The Time Traveler's Wife

Book Blurb:

Audrey Niffenegger’s dazzling debut is the story of Clare, a beautiful, strong-minded art student, and Henry, an adventuresome librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: his genetic clock randomly resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous and unpredictable, and lend a spectacular urgency to Clare and Henry’s unconventional love story. That their attempt to live normal lives together is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control makes their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

My Review:

The narration style of this book is what makes it different from all other books. Rarely do you come across a book where the author is dealing with different past, present and future of different characters at the same time, and does it so wonderfully that the readers feel that are traveling through time and space.

This is a story of Henry and Clare. Clare first meets Henry when she is six and he is thirty eight. Henry first meets Clare in ‘real life’ when he is twenty eight and she is twenty. Confusing? Well…you gotta read it to understand it.

This is a love story like no other. If you are one of those who love to read love stories, pick this one up, you will love it! If you are one of those who go “oh God! Yet another love story”, pick this one up, you are going to love it!

The characters are so life like and beautiful. You feel Henry and Clare’s loneliness, their fears, their difficulties, you are worried for them, you are happy for them, and when the book ends, you will be left with the thoughts about them.

The thing that I liked the most in the book is the suspense. Since there is an aspect of time travel, you never know what is going to happen next!

If you have not watched the movie yet, read the book first.
